The Wood Shop

Most of what is offered for sale in the white house is created by the Su family of parents and five children. All of the children have talent in drawing and painting. The mother teaches arts and crafts in a high school. The father can count on help from members of the family in producing his creations of wood products and souvenirs. There is a close relationship and understanding of Marion and Maria with the family in letting the result of their creativity be available for sale both in Costa Rica and the States. Some of the Indian creations of our Maleku brothers are available as are also painted feathers exquisitely done by Gustavo, a young "adopted" son of the Woods. He serves often, as well, as interpreter.

The new year anticipates more serious participation in the making of furniture for the new chapels and parsonages. Also we plan to renew the production of helpful items for homes and souvenirs using smaller pieces of wood discarded in other wood working shops. Jesus is also interested in the "discarded, too short, too wide, too long, too thick, too heavy people on this earth." He also makes room for the misfits and puts them into shape for blessing, service, and victory. They, too, can be saved from being burned.
