Prison Ministry

Gerardo and the Rural Center are able to cooperate through the prison social worker for the holding of worship services, providing materials for those who create products for sale in the prison shop center and the celebration of special events where families of the prisoners may be allowed to participate. Events include Father's Day, Christmas programs, meals, and the like. We expect to participate in the construction of the multi-purpose building which will be used mostly for grade, high school, and some college level studies for the men imprisoned. The local church members of the newly established congregation nearby are helping Gerardo in this ministry. Many visits are made to the prison by the VIM members who are eager to accompany Gerardo during his weekly lay visits for worship. We are encouraging more participation of this nature with the teams.
